Erin Mychele Selover

Erin was raised by Irish American Labor Organizers in Detroit, Michigan in the late 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. As a young person she witnessed first hand the economic impacts of neoliberal politics and divide and conquer strategies around race, class and gender to create conflict amongst people who shared economic and social interests.

In addition to her parents role modeling, Erin had two major awakenings that informed her passion for liberation and system change. In 1999 at 21, a close friend died suddenly in a car crash. Initiating her into understanding of impermanence, interdependence and a profound love that is not bound by our human bodies. Second in 2018, attending an NGL retreat where she met Miki and witnessed the NGL financial gift hub. Here she “saw” needs based economic as actually a real alternative to capitalism.

Erin was part of a group that co-founded, iBme, an organization that teaches meditation retreats to teenagers. She also mentored and trained with the Stepping Stones Project, a non-profit that led rites of passage group to teenagers. She also has a masters degree in Counseling Psychology and a license to practice Marriage and Family Therapy. From 2008 – 2019 she worked as a somatic trauma therapist. Her training includes Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimoter Psychotherapy and two year intensive training as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist.

Erin serves on both the Leadership council of NGL and the teachers council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Marin County California, USA. She teaches several meditation retreats annually and works as a spiritual strategist forwho individuals who are oriented to wholeheartedly addressing the global crisis.

In addition, Erin supports the integration of NGL into the ecosystem of Tamera, a 175 person land based project in Portugal, as well as several smaller projects. Erin views the NGL principles and practices as Dharma applied to the collective. When she accompanies groups she draws on her Buddhist and NGL training to practically, non-linearly and mysteriously co-create needs based gift economic and governance systems that aspire to work for all.
