From Rupture to Repair: How to Prevent and Resolve Conflicts within Families

May 25 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am PDT

Sometimes we go around in circles with the young people in our lives, and they get frustrated too. We’re out of ideas for how to prevent a conflict, and repairing a rupture is anything but automatic. Or is it?

Many older people want younger people to know they can speak to them about anything but when they try to resolve a conflict, the young people respond with, “It’s fine. I don’t want to talk about it.”

In this workshop, Lisa Rothman demonstrates how to prevent conflicts with family members of all ages from happening in the first place and how to repair them when they do.

The intent is for participants to leave with:

  • Insight into the empathetic art of reconciliation
  • Specific techniques for mending ruptures in their own families
  • A toolbox of skills and strategies for rebuilding trust and reinforcing connection even in the midst of a conflict
  • A Conflict Prevention and Repair Process that transforms conflicts into dilemmas that everyone wants to solve together

People of all ages, including parents, grandparents, caregivers, supporters and anyone ages 10 and up are encouraged to attend.

Here’s what Miki Kashtan has to say about attending this workshop: “I have been friends with Lisa since 2004, even before she was a mother. I have been in awe of how she interacts with her children, simply as human beings that she lives with and cares deeply about, with truth, love, utter surrender to what works for all of them. I have been in awe, again, about her capacity to reach people wherever they are and to teach profound lessons in an entertaining way. I can’t imagine anyone will regret signing up for this workshop.”

Lisa Rothman is a mom who has spent more than 20 years learning, practicing, and teaching how to cultivate and implement a collaborative mindset. The tools she’s mastered and co-created resolve conflicts with children in her own family and in families all over the world. Her approach is always aiming for mutual understanding and a solution that leaves no one behind.
